My sister and I are back living in our childhood home. She is running a textile business - dyeing silk on the kitchen stove. With one eye on the Scottish Colourists, I wanted to show the tension between the domestic present and the uncertain future. I wanted to show the difficulties of living in a place defined by our past: she is wistful but grounded by the cloth she works with.
